2008 was the inaugural year in an ongoing, aspirational project dedicated to the observation of the sun every time it crosses the horizon and to sharing the awareness of that moment with others while ringing bells. It has been incredibly windy all day, and I think it’s Ann and a huge release of her energy. Finally. She was immobile and trapped in her body for such a long time. This wind is constant and huge. Not gusts. This is a roar, a long hard rush of air. Goodbye my friend.

Ann was a teacher of mine, someone who has meant alot to the growth of my art career, as she had so many others. For such a modest person, her impact was as powerful as anyone I have ever met--her strength and spirit were intoxicating to those around her. I will miss her sorely, yet cherish the times I spent working closely with her.
