22 years of Sunsets ...

May 13, 2018. Sunset 8:10 PM San Francisco, CA.

Remembering my mom on Mother's day -- It's been 22 years worth of sunsets since my mother passed away-- I dug around many boxes of photos to find one with all of us in it. Here's my young mother- with me (spaced out in the back), my sister and brother in 1965. I miss my mother and brother and am so grateful for my dear sister.

The Tiniest Glimmer

March 5, 2018. Sunset 5:51 PM.
Brooklyn, NY.

There. Between the buildings.
Despite being 3.5º S and 2º W, the sun sets only a minute later in Brooklyn than it does in Jefferson. The 2-minute gain at the end of the day is a wonderfully insistent creeping towards the Equinox. Only 2 more weeks until Spring!

a wild ride

February 1, 2018. Sunset 5:17 PM.
Lambertville, NJ.

A quiet moment (or an exhausted one). Three weeks after my father’s dog knocked him down and fractured his pelvis, Carol was hit by a snowplow (walking the same sweet puppy). Short story: Everyone is on the mend. Long story: Let your imagination run wild— now do it again—and again…

January 1, 2018. Sunrise 7:22 AM.

The first one of the year. Not much different than the night before- only lighter and a few degrees warmer.

Happy 2018!

Midnight. New Year’s Eve. December 31, 2017

Outside the Senior citizen apartment complex on Main Street in Lambertville, NJ. I love listening to the year flip over – This is an especially gentle one.
