2008 was the inaugural year in an ongoing, aspirational project dedicated to the observation of the sun every time it crosses the horizon and to sharing the awareness of that moment with others while ringing bells. It is based on the conviction that something as inarguable as the movement of the earth can be used as a point of unity and awareness among large groups of people who might otherwise find it impossible to agree. SUNRISE 2/29/08

Let's Leap!

We thought we were finished with our quiet leap year morning bell ringing when we heard a sudden burst of percussion coming from the house. Nil had just finished taking a shower when he heard us playing downstairs. Afraid that he would miss out, he hopped out of the shower, grabbed some bells and started playing. Thank you again, Nil for a wonderful leap year surprise.
