2008 was the inaugural year in an ongoing, aspirational project dedicated to the observation of the sun every time it crosses the horizon and to sharing the awareness of that moment with others while ringing bells. It is based on the conviction that something as inarguable as the movement of the earth can be used as a point of unity and awareness among large groups of people who might otherwise find it impossible to agree. Day 84 Out of the wind

June 13, 2020. Sunset 8:32 PM (again).
San Francisco, CA.

Sunrise and Sunset were at the same times as yesterday- the rate of change in the daylight slowing down but still shifting through shorter increments of the day. I recorded from inside near an open window to get out of the wind and captured the quiet ticking of the clock along with the slower paced tolling of the bell. Calming.
