2008 was the inaugural year in an ongoing, aspirational project dedicated to the observation of the sun every time it crosses the horizon and to sharing the awareness of that moment with others while ringing bells. It is based on the conviction that something as inarguable as the movement of the earth can be used as a point of unity and awareness among large groups of people who might otherwise find it impossible to agree. Noisy Spirits at Sunset

Opening evening sunset for Spirit of invention III at the Bridge Storage and ARTSpace in Richmond, CA. Curated by Peter Whitehead, this amazing collection of instruments and scheduled performances will be up and running through the summer. The place itself offers access to a 2200 square foot workspace & art gallery, shared art studio, woodshop, and sewing lab, with the same perks as more conventional coworking spaces. Bridge facilities include a commercial film stage/screening room which doubles as an event venue. It’s a bit out of the way but well worth a visit.
