2008 was the inaugural year in an ongoing project dedicated to the observation of the sun every time it crossed the horizon and to sharing the awareness of that moment with others (i.e. ring a bell). Beginning on Monday evening December 31, 2007, at 4:59 PST, Brenda Hutchinson invites others to join in wherever they find themselves at sunrise or sunset and to post to the blog if you wish. This is the archival blog and has ALL documentation since 2008.

May 29, 1970 – August 26, 2018 August 26, 2019. Sunset 7:49 PM. San Francisco, CA. It’s hard to believe that it’s been one year since our dear friend, Erin Espeland passed away. A scientist and fellow musician, Erin left us way too soon and we miss her deeply.
